This years Wrestling ScheduleBy Zane Dalton
Wrestling practice started Monday the 6th of November.
From lightest to heaviest this year, we have Ayden Vacca, Wyatt Cotton, Levi Neuleib, Gabe Spencer, Andrew Sims, Logan King, Zane Dalton, Ethan Campbell, Garret Houston, AJ Bianco, JJ Hopkins, Joe Lauterberg, and Jared Lauterberg. Last Year Andrew Sims, Levi Neuleib, and Gabe Spencer, went to State and we are expecting great things from all of our wrestlers this year, especially these three. This years first home meet will be December 5th. This year there will only be 2 home meets, including the December 5th date and January 18th. With such limited opportunities, the Heyworth Hornet Wrestlers would love for you to come out and really show them some support at these 2 meets. This years first tournament will be the Joe Bee Tournament in Springfield. This year, there will be no Senior Wrestlers, so come out and encourage the underclassmen and help the program continue to grow! Girls basketball By: Hance Clymer This years basketball season for the girls have been nothing shy of impressive. As past years have proved, they area strong, and well corroborated team, with a record to prove that. Right now the girls are 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference. Like proven last year, one of their strongest focal points is their defense, as they could win a game with it alone. Coach Griffin can even be heard saying. ¨"Our games could be won on defense alone¨ along with other girls confirming the claim. With aggressive senior talent such as Stephanie Brown, and Amber Tomlin, their defense is nothing to be concerned about. The offence as well has its fair share of assets, with there center forward Chassidy Hays, and their point guard, RIley Ryburn, They are just as equally an offensive threat. In conclusion, This years girls basketball season is just as promising as the rest, and with the combined passion and spirit from every part of the team, they have the potential to make it very far. |
